Working around the ranch lately , I have been converting my old fluorescent light fixtures to LED the conversion tubes cost ten dollars each , and don't need a ballast just hook the power up and go ! so I can pull down a fixture , convert it ,and rehang it no need to have to rehang some new fixture that doesn't quite line up like the old one. 

   It looks to me that accepting handouts from the Government is the way to poverty and ruin. It seems that all government assistance is designed to be a disincentive . A couple years ago I was below poverty level barley making it .  One day I got a phone call from a nice lady who was with the energy assistance program with the county , and she wanted to see if I was interested in applying for energy assistance I would have just made it to qualify for $250 or so a month . The thing that bothered me was I could not earn any more. I did a quick calculation If I got $250 a month that works out to $3,000 in a years time. If I worked ten hours of O.T. a week that's 15,000 a year 120 hours of O.T. (about three months worth) the rest of the overtime money is mine ! Sure working long hours sucks , but , when you go into work on Friday and you are already getting overtime Its a Good Day.  The moral of the story ? Don't take the easy cheese , it might be a trap                                                                                   

 

   I was hoping to get moved into the north bedroom this weekend but , paint will only dry so fast and there isn't much you can do to speed up the process.  As of Labor Day afternoon the ceiling has three coats and is mostly done. the walls have 2 coats and look good I have to go around the edges where the rollers couldn't reach , the interface between the wall and ceiling , and the inside corners the roller couldn't get.      

   So , I'm working around the hacienda this weekend repainting the spare bedroom so it will become my new bedroom and the one I'm in can get the walls and ceiling patched up and re painted . some of the plaster has come loose so it'll take a bit of work to finish that room. the new room will be nice , it is on the corner and has two windows so lots of  light

  

 

 

 

 

 

 

I had to do some work to my wheels I drive a 04 dodge 3/4 ton pickup the front axle U joints are toast so Saturday morning bright and early I called the parts store and asked if the needed parts were on hand . Nope. They were ordered and expected ETA was 11;00 2  and a half hour delay, oh well. rounded up the parts and went after it ,and it seamed like every damn bolt fought me to the hilt! I had to make use of my four foot cheater bar to break loose most the hardware but at the end of the day after only a couple more trips to town it was all broken down and ready to clean up and reassemble . Sunday morning after attaining sufficient caffeination I made my way to start putting things back together. I took a wire brush to everything and removed all the crusties and put all the U joints back together , and also put in new brake pads got it all put together and decided to do the other side next weekend. I got cleaned up and visited Mom and wished Her  Happy Mothers Day

    

 So I  have been busy at work ,and also have a ton of stuff around the hacienda I have been working on making the basement shop usable again so that I will be able to get other things done around here. I got enough parts to build a pretty nice five foot workbench. I got the framework for  it from work , they were tossing it . I had a hunk of countertop that fit on pretty well. I had to put in a filler on the back side to make it work but it doesn't look too bad. I have been buying Milwaukee tools through work when I can catch the sales , and I was putting the bench together and went and grabbed a rachet and socket to tighten down a bunch of nuts and looked over and saw the M12 impact Dang I'd totally forgotten I had it well that impact really speeded up the process 

 One difference that I've noticed between the left and right is if a leftist disagrees with someone , they will do everything they can to shut them down. Someone leaning to the right after hearing an opinion they disagree with will say" I don't agree , but I will fight to the death for your right to express your opinion " the first amendment applies to everyone equally not just the people who you agree with
