posting has been sparse due to a couple factors . I got into some soy and had a allergic reaction last week, missed a bunch of work ,but was on call Saturday ,had to run into the plant 4 times so that kept me busy in between small chores. Did a run to the recycling center and got some of the yard mowed , had to do a bit of fixing on the garden tractor first . The lawn will get out of hand in a hurry now that it has warmed up some . I ought to poke around and see if I can find any morels . The asparagus ought to be starting soon too.

I have seen some conversations about the downfall of Eric Swalwell . I think it is an example of what happens when your idiocy outweighs your usefulness . You've had your 15 minutes of fame Eric . Now its time for you to hop on to your favorite Chinese spy / prostitute and ride off into the sunset to hopefully be soon forgotten.

So , I made a trip up to my friends farm up by the Dells and we checked out the Kimber after I put in the spring kit . The trigger is a bit better , but it still tends to hit to the left . Being that the Micro 9 is so small it is hard to hold on to . After that , I pulled out the Springfield EMP what a difference ! Whacking the gongs like nothing even putting a hurt on the 40 yard targets like a breeze ! That one makes anyone look like a good shooter. I decided not to break out the SA35 ,that would feel like cheating.

It has been a rough week . We have had a lot of stormy weather and more on the horizon . It has been busy at work as well. Been training a new mechanic on second shift and it seems like the machine operators were willing to give us lots to do.
I will go down to the grouch cave in a bit and play gunsmith. I ordered a spring kit for the Kimber . It is a nice pistol , but the trigger needs help . I ordered up an Mcarbo spring kit Sunday and it showed up yesterday. We will see if this helps. I hope so , I like this little pistol and it has potential to be a decent EDC piece .

Wild weather last night the little church in East Bristol had about 40 % of the roof torn off. about 12;30 the weather alerts went off .They weren't kidding lightning, wind and rain made for a lively late night.
On an unrelated note . Disgraced former senator Eric Swalwell has dropped out of the gubernatorial race in Ca. and had resigned his seat. That is a good start , now to demonstrate his complete sincerity he ought to commit Seppuku on the steps of the capitol. That would be a good example for the others like him.

I ordered a spring kit for the new pistol , It needs a little help , the trigger has about a 7 pound break . that makes it pull to the left. The kit doesn't look too hard to install. It will show up in a week or so , I didn't feel like paying 50% extra to get it a day sooner. It is finally warming up a bit here. lately it has been either cold , windy , raining , or all of the above at one time.

Took the Kimber out and tried it out . It shoots ok, it is small so harder to grasp with my big bear paws . It has three dot sights , and a 7 round capacity . It does have a bit of recoil because it is a small pistol with an aluminum alloy frame . with a little attention to form we were banging the gong with no troubles. even managed to hit the deer target at 40 yards a couple times !
As a range toy the Springfield is easier to shoot with a bigger grip and less perceived recoil , but for carrying around the Kimber wins being smaller and lighter in weight. I will not feel bad packing either one , or both in a super sketchy situation. The SA35 still wins out as overall best pistol.

Added another one to the flock. A 1911 style in 9 MM . It's a Kimber micro 9 ,I think it makes a good companion piece for the Ronin . It is smaller and lighter than the Springfield . If I can find a decent holster it'll be a good carry pistol. Looking forward to range trip for testing and evaluation .

Woah rough day , almost hit a horse on my way from work Monday ,I'm glad I was not in a hurry. generally I see lots of deer and turkeys during my commute ,but this was a new one ! Got home and crashed, and woke up to a 52 degree house . The furnace had faulted out ,had to reset and restart after topping off the water tank. Got to work and realized that I'd forgotten to change from tennis shoes to workboots , sneakers are lousy on concrete floors ,those things really tear up your feet. I see a few kids at work wearing Chuck Taylors ,those are cool, but not at work. Their feet must really be tired at the end of the shift. So after all of that I will be looking foreword to a good nights sleep .Here's hoping a flock of inebriated peafowl do not decide to camp out in the elm tree.

What to do today ? It is supposed to be a nice day according to the forecasters , I should get out and do something . When it dries out some I will spend a day picking up the float some and jet some that the winter winds have blown this way .the mailbox has taken a beating and will need some attention , and a hundred other things to do after the snow is gone .
We are in that awkward season in-between winter and spring the season of mud, everywhere you look is mud. If it isn't mud ,it is a pool of melted snow that is waiting to become mud. Time to think about the garden I suppose.

good morning friends and neighbors I hope everyone survived St. Pat's day without too bad of a hangover. Some folks are overachievers when libations are on the menu . The blizzard kind of threw everyone off their stride .Apparently they are not too organized for bad weather at work . Monday I knew day shift had been canceled , but had no word on second. About the time I start getting ready to go to work , I looked out and could not see the big yellow road sign across the highway . there was almost zero traffic so I decided to call in. I did not want to crash the truck and spend a couple hours stuck someplace with a huge tow truck bill to pay. At first the boss wanted me to at least come in and get the shift started , I respectfully declined , shortly thereafter he let me know that second shift had been called off so it did not matter . Somehow they had a communications breakdown . The info did not get out in a timely fashion.

A week ago it was 70 degrees F here , today we are experiencing a blizzard. Schools all over the area are shut down . Nearly whiteout conditions today. I might have to consider calling in to work. I hate to think what it will be like on the roads at midnight when I'm on my way home after work. They already called day shift off .

Younger sister hooked up with a dude we called "The couch Tumor " He was a lowlife that had never done anything useful in his life (Hint his best job was working at a carnival ). One day he saw me on the Harley and told me how lucky I was . I told him luck had nothing to do with it at all, and I decided I wanted the bike and put in the time , and overtime that I needed to do to make it happen, and if he would get a job and show up every day for ten hours he could have one too I got stinkeye for that. Last I heard he is still riding a davenport .

It was a decent afternoon yesterday so after running to the store and fetching dog ,cat and people food I decided to make supper on the grill . I cooked enough so I will be able to eat grilled stuff for lunch for most of the week . That is good because ham sandwiches get old after a while. By the time everything was done I was getting cold. There was a breeze and high clouds so it was not as nice as it could have been . But a couple quiet hours chilling out by the picnic table listing to some blues music with the dogs is not the worst way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
