It was an interesting day at work yesterday , we had a 7.5 Horsepower motor fail that drives part of the ventilation system in the black oxide department . When I got to work the day shift crew had gotten a pretty good start on removing the old motor. It is about 20 feet in the air outside on the north end of the building, and it was cold and windy ,so that made the job even more fun. We hauled the wreckage into the shop area and changed the sheave and bushing over to the replacement motor. (Not a new motor , a used spare with unknown hours on it .) I showed the boys how to remove a Taperlock Bushing   "Just smack it with a hammer right?" NOPE ! it was a teaching moment ! Teaching the new dogs old tricks ! That's what us old dogs do !
